Whats the best corporation? My favorite is the cereal. I cant get the jewelry one very often though. Alwayas manage to find the mining one first again and again.

It depends on your goal, but usually are one food corporation and Mining.
Both together are usually enough to win the game.

Sushi and Mining are generally considered the best, and, for one, both corps are earliest. Sushi is map dependent though but great for Space games, as is Mining. I only use corps for Space games anyway, and if non-watery maps or Pangaea I will go State Property instead, which is strong in its own right.

If you are just playing casually, then just have fun with the corps you can get. Put them in your Wall Street Holy city, run Free Market, build Courthouses everywhere. Spread the bad corps (that you can actually found - conflicts) to the AI.

State Property ;)

Really, though, it depends a lot on your map type (and the resources it has) and your game goals.

IMO it’s Sushi because it provides multiple benefits (faster border pops, ability to whip/draft faster, ability to run more specialists). The yield from extra specialists will often exceed the beaker or monetary payoff that other corporations provide.

I remember when BTS first came out and how we all got so excited by our new corporate toys, before coming to the conclusion that SP is just better in most games. That said, I do find that corps seem to improve on larger maps, not because there are more resources (the bonuses scale to map size), but because games will go longer, making space more likely, and also because on such maps there can be some very large expanses of tundra and ice in the polar regions, which become quite viable with food and production corps. Recently I've been trying out some custom map scripts like Planet Generator which put forests on many ice tiles, making them even more so.
