Great person, research completion

Sometimes when using a Great Person to instantly gain a new technology, the great person is comsumed, but I don't get a technology.

Sometimes when using a Great Person to instantly gain a new technology, the great person is comsumed, but I don't get a technology.

I had this happen to me yesterday also. Only had it happen to me once though.

I also had it complete current project rather than give me a choice of which one to learn... but maybe that type of great person done that, I don't read it fully everytime...

The pop-up display when you mouse over the "discover technology" button will tell you how many beakers towards discovery of the technology if in fact the great person won't be able to completely discover the tech. Also, it tells you what technology will be discovered. You don't get to choose, it is based on the type of great person and they type of Tech...
