Great Persons (and their names) in Planetfall

There's a GURPS SMAC roleplaying guide. I actually own a copy, but unfortunately I'm on the other side of the continent from it at the moment.
I'll take a look at it when I get home (end of the month). I pretty clearly remember a "common names" list for each faction in the character design section.

EDIT: Found a copy online. Looks like I 'clearly remembered' wrong. Still, it's got a ton of background information. I'm perusing it now, looking for any useful names.

Didn't find much productive, the writers seemed to carefull avoid providing names.
A couple that might be usable, albeit somewhat at odds with canon:
Anniki Luttinen, Great Engineer - Aki Zeta-Five's pre-'enhancement' name
Asa Wright, Great Hacker - Datajack Sinder Roze's real name
Arthur Donaldson, Great Engineer - Foreman Domai's original name, as Director of Planetside Mining for the Unity Expedition

I don't see a Joachim in the univ or interlude files. Do you have an English version of SMAC?

Oops; Joachim is the more standard spelling.

Is JoaQuim faction specific or generic?

Ah interesting, I didn't know that. That might be good to mention in the datalinks later on. I'm not sure it would be good to add faction leader names as great people though. It would be nice if they could always be the first great person of their kind to appear (that way their own faction probably isn't founded yet). But unfortunately great people names are chosen randomly, not in the order they are in the XML.

For the three names given I think we could use them, since the names aren't the same as the faction leaders, people wouldn't likely notice while playing that they are technically the same as faction leaders (In the original SMAC backstory). (And more names are always useful).

Right. As I said, it doesn't work canonically, but I thought it might work thematically.
