Greeks freezing my game!!!

I'm in a game right now. I'm taking my time and am currently reducing Greece to rubble. But recently, everytime I bomb a city with a bomber and they intercept it, my computer freezes. I guess I could stop bomboing them, but that wouldn't be any fun at all . If any of you guys have any suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

First and foremost, have you installed the latest patch (v1.29f)?

The game "out of the box", i.e. version 1.07f, had a bug with air interceptor missions, IIRC.
