The moment when you instantly regret settling so close to Eleanor...

Playing Inca, emperor, pangea turns 65

Trading iron seems bugged: other civs always offer 1 gold...for 1 iron or 50 ...always 1 gold...sell 1 iron receive 1 gold, go out of 'make a deal' ...go back in ...sell 1 iron get 1 gold and repeat.....

No problems at all with babs, they don't spawn often.

Edit: turn 66: Tomirys proposed a deal herself: 20 iron for 15 gold and some favours...

I won’t be able to play until the weekend. A few questions are killing me. Can anyone help?
  • Has the RND +1 Movement bug been fixed. Likewise, do units built in encampments retain their xp bonus now? I’m guessing no..
No idea.

  • TheGameMechanic’s livestream showed no culture from Cultural City States until they built their Unique District, likewise no Science from Science City States without a Campus etc... is this a thing now, or just a bug in his game?
Don't know yet, will keep an eye out in my next game.

  • What units need what resources. In particular, did Chariots end up needing horses?
Chariots don't need a strategic resource.

  • Legacy Cards. Are you prevented from slotting Oligarchy LC in eg any tier one government or just in Oligarchy (etc)?
You can't use legacy cards in tier 1 governments.

  • Other than the Sphinx, have any UIs been buffed?
Stepwell gives drought immunity.

  • Are there any significant differences in how early era units looked based on Civ cultural type?
All units now look a bit more different, but you have to zoom in to really see it on the earliest units.

Up to turn 147 and going to take a break.
Played nice till about turn 80.
Warmongering since that time for the most part.
Took a ten turn break for research.
Going slow but little resistance.
Selling my Votes but World Congress not hurting me as of yet.
Most likely kill the Maori and go from there.
Diplomatic Victory has always been broken in Civ Games so might go that route.
I need to focus on getting out more Settlers and improving Niter.
Only 17 cities as of now which seems very slow.
Looks like they built me the Pyramids though which is a plus!
I did notice Amani got a nerf eh?
I may have been reading too fast though and missed what I was looking for.

Spoiler Turn 147 :

I genuinely love how well river naming works. I found a part where the river delta had one name, then further upstream, there was a confluence where the river was renamed from another tributary, then even further upstream, after another confluence, I found the source with the original name.

Very possible to have 2 Eleanors in a game - despite the "no duplicate leaders" option :(
Apparently she is not "one leader for 2 civs" but simply "2 leaders for 2 civs that happen to look very similar and have the same LUA". Just check in Leaders table how many entries are there for her.

Phoenicia's ancient era theme makes me wanna close my eyes and just listen. It even sounds like the one from civ5 at times.

I had a Barbarian Scout show up at my capital on the 3rd turn of the game!

So did I but for some reason when he went back to the camp the barbs didn't spawn like they usually do.
Actually they only spawned a slinger as I was heading to kill them.
It has been like this the whole game for me the camps are not spitting out raging barbs like before.
I must be the only one because I keep reading how everyone is saying barbs are invading.

Wish we could abstain from voting in WC... not even have to select a target. Seems like mindless attempt to create friction/wars in endless parts of the game.

All this just brings me back to the point of how is possible to have WC introduced in a game and not the option to ask a Civ to declare peace on another Civ/City State.

So I'm playing on max settings for natural disasters. I get one about every 8 turns. Around 80 turns in, I've had around 10. Mostly floods and droughts, though I did have a couple volcanic eruptions too. None have affected me yet,but a few have been close. None that have affected other civs (I'm not sure if we can see natural disasters in another civ's land if we've seen it before but don't currently have vision on it).

Playing on standard size with continents and 8 civs. As Canada. I seem to be in the southeast corner of a continent, Eleanor of England bordering me and I've met Dido but nobody else, not even a city-state (and yes, they're supposed to be there). Though 3 city-states were destroyed by an unmet civ early on.

My first 2 cities weren't coastal but my 3rd and I'm just now getting to build boats so haven't explored the ocean much yet. Barbarians are annoying the crap out of my units and not letting me explore much. I'm mostly using my units to escort settlers/builders and defend towns from pillaging. I currently have 4 cities.

I built 2 cities near Eleanor, and she doesn't seem to mind. We're very friendly. In fact, she was happy when my 3rd city reached a good population (6, I think it was). She's not even told me not to settle near her, and we're friends. Dido hates me though, for no reason whatsoever. There's a lot of tundra land southeast of where I settled and nobody has went past me to settle but I'm saving that for later when I don't think anyone else will want it. xD

I'm going to go for a diplomacy victory (but that'd be easier if I could meet city-states.....) but I want decent tourism to take advantage of my UA regarding tourism and diplomacy points. But as of yet, my tourism is only 8 and culture is like 14.3 I think. I've built a science district and government plaza in my capital, but no other districts yet lol though about to do a commercial district there. My 2nd city is pumping out settlers and builders, while my 3rd one just got on its feet and is doing boats. My 4th is still a youngling. I use most of my gold to either buy tiles or military units.

nope/nope

no Science from Science City States without a Campus et
Patch change a while back.... not a very good game mechanic is he?

Which GS civ seems the best to warmonger... and why?
Only played Maori but the Toa is nasty (upgrade from warrior, +5, no resource, and a stackable -5 even at sea.... as well as seemingly being able to repair tiles) however the ability for the whole civ to move fast at sea without embark issues is awesome. I played continents and they just pwned. Early quads is crazy strong if used quickly. I thought this civ was good and Hungary better, now I know that is likely incorrect but I have get to get hungry. If you have played a sea faring nation before you will appreciate 4 MP atr sea TOAs giving 5 flanking each is superior to anything at sea.

The pillage rule is stupid strong now... and toa pillage/repair is embarrasing.

I had Kabul and a GG to be fair.

They still have not made unique unit looks for all cultures past the renaissance :(

I hope they'll get around to it some day.

Other than that does it auto select the next civic/tech if you do not pick or is it just me?

The game feels amazing by the way, I'm having a blast as Hungary it's like they designed the civ for me.

I didn't have much problems fighting them but they were popping up like crazy in my game. Like, prior to GS you could have those occasions where they occasionally spawned in a really annoying single tile that you didn't have vision on. But for this game I just played I would whack a camp, then another would pop up as close to my citiyborder as possible, then rinse and repeat. It was a marked difference in how close they spawned when compared to prior to GS. I wonder if it's maybe due to changes in the mapcreation and then just unlucky rolls of the dice...

Anyways, I just won a Diplo victory on Immortal as Kristina. Was very easy overall. Again, you can just hoard the Diplo favor for the victory condition and if you go for a Diplo victory you'll want to ally people which means that... well, noone will really get in your way, everyone will be friendly. Didn't have a single war,
I guess mileage will vary but yeah...
Noone else was close to winning anything. I think the closest AI just hit the third blip in the space victory.

Anyways, what I really enjoyed a lot was the the map I got. I found it superfun to play and interesting to explore. Lots of fun. I do hope (as always) there will be tweaks down the line for making things more difficult.
