[GS] GS impressions/random observations thread.

Phoenicia's Move capital doesn't work like it is supposed to. The capital can be moved but Tyre is still registered as your home continent, the Colonial Taxes + colonial offices + Casa de Contratacion combo doesn't work. So sad.

Petra + Volcanic Soil

Maybe it's me or have barb scouts become more annoying?

They'll pillage trade routes on-sight now instead of (usually) leaving them be till their base is destroyed. It feels like they go out of their way to pillage them as I've seen them litterally turn right back around to go for em.

Is it me or do the AI walls seem weaker than before at turn 74 in most Deity Games?
Also since I have all these mountains and Pingala I seem to be researching faster than the AI.
I couldn't resist and took the +1 Culture +1 Science Promotions.
As much as I have chopped so far I still think Magnus would of been better though.
I have been taking at easy on chops too out of fear.
Could just be this map though I have had games like this where it seems to be a breeze.
These AI neighbors seem to be the friendly flavor as well.

Hello fellow Dido player, I think her Move Capital ability doesn't work properly because even when her new capital is on a different continent, the starting continent still registers as the home continent, so the policy cards + casa de contratacion combo doesn't work. Can you please try to see if you have the same problem?

How can I play the WW1 scenario (war machine) as single player? My play style does not fit for multiplayer.
Do I have to start a hot seat session against myself?

Edit :
Use Multiplayer - Hot Seat, select the side you want to play and then set 2nd main player to AI.

I'm getting a negative -40 modifier if I have grievances against me from other players.

"-40 Grievances against other players."

Just meet Rome and have that huge penalty against me. Looks like you do any conquering during any era, you're going to be hated by everyone.

Very nice that they added dig sites and ship wrecks lighting up when archaeologists are selected.

... Maybe... I am in the classifcal and have this

But weirdly everyone else currently has 0 even though Gorgo had lots before
It looks like they loose those when they denounce you

... I must say a Toa rush is just stupid strong and easy to do.
Step 1... find a science wonder and settle it
Step 2. Settle near someone and start spamming warriors
STep 3, upgrade to Toa and off you go.
.. I didn't settle for 10 friggin turns, wiped out 2 civs by T100 easy. just messin

Yeah, it's going down at a decent clip.

I'm more baffle how Rome knows I've been bad before meeting me.

I don't really like Dido in Civ VI compared to Civ V but just going straight down the list.
Where are my Elephants? Why can't I climb over the mountains??
Since I am on Pangaea and this map is a large continent not sure when I can move the capital to another continent.
Kinda bypassing that option since it doesn't seem to matter.

I am not doing very good but it feels like a normal game for me.
Although I am not using Magnus and I only seen one good overflow chop for an extra chariot.
I think the AI is having issues with this new Iron/Horse idea to create large armies.
I don't see how the AI will be able to implement this new system.

Currently I am at war with Sweden.
Pretty easy since she has no walls and not much of an Army due to early wars with our neighbor.
I bribed the good/bad neighbor to war with me but not sure he is doing anything.
I am going slow but taking a city or two now up to turn 100 which is a good turn number to asses and post up on here.
8 cities but probably could of got two more if I would of focused.
Missed out on a Double Golden Age because I play too fast... missed it by 2 Era Points.
Also didn't focus on the War Machine till after turn 70 or so which hampered expansion as well.

I ignored trying to get a Religion although this map/start probably would of been good for it.
As usual I focus on getting Harvest and that Classical Golden Age.
I didn't get to abuse it too much but I got out about 8 Builders and 1 Settler with it.
If I would of focused on the Mid-Evil Golden Age I would be steam rolling with the faith now.
Plan B. as always, is to Faith Buy more Army.

I am starting to get chop happy and haven't seen any issues from it yet.
That doesn't mean it won't bite me later on since I don't understand the nerf exactly.
Basically just got the War Machine going.
Nice to be allied up with two Culture CS's.
Wish I could of got Auckland with all this coast but Culture is better.
I could be wrong but I think Pingala with the first two promotions is nice.

I think if I would of went to war earlier I would have double the cities by now but kinda went turtle for the first game.
Most likely going to get up Colosseum up around turn 105 to 109.
That will be another nice culture boost.
Just gonna Kill Sweden and roll into the Maori after that.
Would of Dowed him first just because but he had walls and she didn't.

If I remember or get around to it I will update you on my Capital Move.
I don't like the idea of it and I don't think it matters but I will keep your request in mind!

Edit: I started not to care about voting in the World Congress and just selling all my votes now.
Oooops just noticed I am building a Knight in my desert city... got change that lol.
Pillaging is kinda ridiculous but I am not complaining if that is the way the Devs want it.

Spoiler Turn 100 :

These button's being reversed have officially been confirmed and have been bugging me since they were shown during the civ gameplay reveals. What is going on, why this change. Surely they could not have noticed this if it was a bug.
