Guess the Map V: A Map is Worth a Thousand Words

Then so many other countries are missing from that list. I think their is a reason why we have so many missing countries.

Well, he wrote he used only OECD countries for the map. And he wrote VRWCAgent's answer, miles of paved roads, was really close.
There is a List of OECD countries by road network size on wikipedia which seems to be the answer.

Edit: Repost of the map.

Yep, that's the data I used, and I just realized I shouldn't have coloured Iceland and Mexico.
And classical hero, there is the definition of motorways according to the OECD.

Australia is missing from the list which is strange because Iceland and Mexico appear albeit with a total length of 0 km in the first case and no data in the case of Mexico.

Anyway, I do not have a map, so if it is my turn to post one open floor it is instead.

The OECD has defined[2] a motorway as:
French Equivalent: Autoroute
Road, specially designed and built for motor traffic, which does not serve properties bordering on it, and which:
(a) is provided, except at special points or temporarily, with separate carriageways for the two directions of traffic, separated from each other, either by a dividing strip not intended for traffic, or exceptionally by other means;
(b) does not cross at level with any road, railway or tramway track, or footpath;
(c) is specially sign-posted as a motorway and is reserved for specific categories of road motor vehicles.
Entry and exit lanes of motorways are included irrespectively of the location of the sign-posts. Urban motorways are also included.

Maybe one of these is not true for Australian motorways, or the data I used was not reliable, if this is the case, I apologize.

I don't know, If I should accept your answer VRWCAgent, could you please elaborate a bit? You are really close.
Of course you should accept it. :D

Seriously though, if it is kilometers instead of miles, then I shouldn't get it. To clarify, I meant roads that are not gravel or dirt, but rather paved concrete/asphalt/etc roads.

The colours make me think ratio between males and females

Probably should have been a bit more subtle.

Colours are which gender is larger in proportion to the other. Purpleish is 1.000

Hopefully this will last longer than 6 minutes
