Indeed, something worth celebrating! Hats off to those brave men and women. But, let us not forget those other brave Cosmonauts, whom I'll honor via a drawing of their most famous representative, Laika.
And the scientists who got them there.
To the Cosmonauts, Scientists, and especially to Gagarin and Tsiolkovsky . The Soviet Union may have been f-ed up, but their deeds and accomplishments when it comes to space travel stands eternal .
There was no re-entry. Unless it's degraded in orbit and fallen over the years, Laika is still probably up there. They lost life signs within the first or second day IIRC.
I read the title as "cosmetics". This is a much better day though! RIP to all those who died (some horribly so) in the race for space (and have since and sadly probably will in the future).
