Finally, something worth celebrating :goodjob: !

Indeed, something worth celebrating! Hats off to those brave men and women. But, let us not forget those other brave Cosmonauts, whom I'll honor via a drawing of their most famous representative, Laika.

:salute:

For them I am going to drink vodka today!

:salute:I stand in awe of the brave men, and women who boldly went where no man had gone before:salute:

And the scientists who got them there.
To the Cosmonauts, Scientists, and especially to Gagarin and Tsiolkovsky  . The Soviet Union may have been f-ed up, but their deeds and accomplishments when it comes to space travel stands eternal :salute: .

Poor dog. :(

He shouldnt have been burdened with the honor and unfortute inevitable death.

Did he die of starvation in the capsule, die on entry in space (no suffiecent gear), or die in reentry?

There was no re-entry. Unless it's degraded in orbit and fallen over the years, Laika is still probably up there. They lost life signs within the first or second day IIRC.

I read the title as "cosmetics". This is a much better day though! RIP to all those who died (some horribly so) in the race for space (and have since and sadly probably will in the future).
