Has anyone of you emigrated?

We emigrated from Poland and are now dual Canadian/Polish citizens, residing in Canada.

We did it because Poland was communist and under Russian oppression.

Did communist countries allow people to leave the country? If not, how did you get out?

I'm not sure it really counts, but I moved from the US to Canada.

My grandparents and mom moved from the UK to the US when she was a baby. But her birth in England got me a UK passport oddly enough.

My family moved from Washington State to Idaho, pretty sure that counts, they really are two different 'countries'

my family emigrated from cuba in 1966 (i was only 4). my parents were in their early to mid 40's. today, my mother had a writer's award named after her....

What makes you want to leave the NL?

Don't get me wrong, I think NL is quite awesome really, but I just get a sort of seen-it-all feeling. May go away in time, and I realize this may pop up in another country as well as soon as I live there long enough.
