i play civ 3 and 4 about 99 percent of time but today i decided to around with freeciv (which i guess models civ 2) and what do you know, first game i play i move my villager onto a hut and the hut founds my capitol! just thought it was werid to get my capitol for free.

You're talking about freeciv, right?

Units in freeciv are different from civ2. The difference is that they have MP of 2 instead of 1 and 3 for an opening explorer. So it's worth a shot to move your explorer 3 to 6 tiles away (to pop a city from a hut). Unlike civ2, I ain't gonna waste my turn just to search for a distant hut using my opening settler. SIP is better.:mischief:

In your question, if it happens to me to pop the capital from a hut?
I say yes for freeciv and never for civ2.;)

the funny thing is, the hut was 1 square away from my starting dot and i moved my worker to pop it lol

Why didn't you say so earlier?

It never happened to me in civ2, anyway. But it happened to me often when I was playing freeciv. I remember that the starting units are explorer, a couple of workers, and a settler, right?

yea something like that. i quit after 2 turns, its just not worth trying to figure out he interface its too confusing.
