Have engineers taken an oath against the American public or something?

Why is it that engineers can't design a urinal that can be pissed in without 95% of it spraying back onto your sweatshirt, face, and shoes? Is it really that hard to design urinals? I figured it would be like the easiest engineering project of the century to undertake.

Just wanted to say I started laughing while reading the thread title, before I even knew what it was about...

Anyway, to put this in scary perspective, the urinals in some buildings in American engineering schools are worse than those the general public uses. We're really just out for revenge and some laughs.
