Was just reading about the "Two Russias" bug and had an odd thought. For various reasons, I still haven't patched - and since I have only played about five games all the way through to a point where enemy bombers are a problem, this hasn't been too upsetting.

But what's strange is that I haven't encountered a bug in any circumstances whatsoever, save for the no fighter interception thing. So I just wanted to see - and to show any Firaxians - what the actual incidence of bugs was post patch.

Are you asking about bugs or crashes? Everyone has the stacked movement/army bug if they use armies with v1.17f. I haven't really noticed any other bugs with v1.17f, although I have read about some. I've had a couple of crashes, but was able to reload and continue playing. Far fewer crashes than the earlier versions.

I've seen bugs in the orginal release, 1.16 and 1.17.

Crashes due to othe civs declaring war that get saved into the games making them unusable. Randon crashes I can't explain.
And lots of quirky bugs, especially in stack movement with 1.17.
Not to mention some of the very questionable "features".

But the overall gameplay is still fun, I just wish they polished
and game-tested it better before releasing it.

I am very fortunate in that I have seen no major bugs at all and I am currently pre-patch. Maybe it is simply down to the patches that make the game more buggy than Poombah's breakfast bowl.

The only minor bug I have noticed is that occasionally, a civ will appear and be a completely diferent colour than they normally are, even if there isn't any other civ with their usual colour in play.

Oh yeah, what is the two Russias bug?

I have only seen one bug and that is the broken air superiority before the first patch. But then I did not install patch 1.17.

I haven't seen any 'bugs' with the legal version of CivIII.

I voted the interceptor option but I question if it is a bug since Firaxis knew about it since we first got our hands on the game....Sounds more like bad design or laziness.

Has anyone had this happen to them? I'm in the city information screen and I tell one of the units inside my city to fortify. Then the game freezes up and I have to restart. Is this a common problem, or is it just my screwy computer?

The only bug that I have seen is the one time that a few of my workers were slaughtered by my own troops in the Modern Age. Unusual, and hard to repeat. V. 1.17f by the way.

:ar15:

This sounds similar to the problem that I reported in the other "bug thread" but I was not in the city screen. I had just finished bombarding a city and told the ship to hold but the program would not jump to the next unit. I had to manually move from unit to unit to move by amries. I got frustrated and had to suspend operations and tun off the game

I have seen several bugs in both 1.16 and 1.17. In my last game I had a cultural expantion and a goodyhut on a island came inside my borders. Nothing strange with that, except it became a town. In my possesion and it was guarded by a number of barbarians who from time to time went out from the town and then back in, happily plundering away hundreds of gold everytime. This was v1.17.

The other bugs I have seen are more common like the army movement bug.
