Having fun colonizing..

First time I try it... I suppose I'm doing it all wrong, but oh well, it's quite fun!

I'm playing terra with Joao, and have just colonized about 12 cities. The new world is MINE! I gifted a few workers and ships to my new colony to get it going. Gotta say, I'm starting to wish I was the colony!

Joao is the most fun for this kind of game. Now you have access to all of those juicy luxuries! It'll also make a great market for your corporations.

NICE IDEA with Lincoln! I just tried it... hehe... I had to add some workers and courthouses for him though because he was 50 gold in the minus at 0% science. In the end everyone got the arses handed to them though. I'm thinking it may have been a good idea to bring more workers and build a forbidden palace there and see if I couldn't keep the cities myself. The maintenance was like 15 gold per city though.

Well , you could always build a palace in the new world, and make your old country a colony instead...

I usually play with the "No tech Brokering" option .. That way I can gift techs to my colony without worrying where they will turn up.

Just go "State Property" and you never worry about colonies... you get to keep EVERYTHING!

I do this all the time. I love it. I usually stay in State Property unless I found Sid's Sushi, then I switch to Free Market. It's really nice with Representation and the Free Specialist buildings. The more cities you have, the more Free Specialists you have! Add in Free Religion and you have a technology powerhouse.
