He 219 "Uhu"

weird now i´m confused (is there also the mosquito.nif missed in this folder?), but first sorry for confusing you , yes i wanted to say rename the uhu.nif to mosquito.nif and link to the renamed file or add the mosquito.nif to the folder and don´t link to her.

There should be the following files in the folder, the nif(s), the texture(s), the kfm, the nif linked in the kfm (in this case the mosquito.nif) and the kf files

I kinda gather what you're saying.

There was a mosquito.kfm file, but no mosquito.nif in the original Uhu download. I just renamed the Uhu.nif file and used it for both the NIF and SHADERNIF entries. Seem to be working. Where you thinking of something else?

No that exact was what i meant :), should work without problems
(but i´m still wonder why your other mosquito animation didn´t worked - also a missing mosquito.nif )

When I tried replacing the uhu.nif file with the one from your earlier mosquito unit, I ended up with two different problems.

When I used the mosquito.nif file for <SHADERNIF> and the uhu.nif file with <NIF>, the unit looked like a mosquito.

When I used the uhu.nif file for <SHADERNIF> and the mosquito.nif file with <NIF>, I had the Python error.

   :wallbash: :dunno:

You're talking to someone who has absolutely no understanding of unit animation here. None of this makes much sense at all to me.

Ok i see there were again some misunderstandings,
Spoiler :

only for safety: the nifs are the model, the kfm and the kf files the animation, but in the kfm file there is a link inside to a nif to get information about the armature structure of the model and information which kf should be used in a certain situation. The python error occurs when a kfm file links to an nonexisting nif [here: mosquito.nif]

as i said you could link to one exisiting animation, i meant to use an animation you already have in another folder [eg: <kfm>.../mosquito/mosquito.kfm</kfm> /the animation is the kfm link in the artdefine]

your both tests, side note: your system seems strong enough to use the shader models (the nif linked in shadernif tags), so as you linked the mosquito.nif there the mosquito model was loaded instead of the uhu, and because the mosquito.nif was in the same folder where the mosquito.kfm is all should work, but your first test also should work, the uhu.nif is loaded and the mosquito.nif was in the folder where the mosquito.kfm is. Why it don´t work, no idea.

But nevertheless you get the model working :)
