Healing Aliens?

So I managed to get two aliens via excavations and I can't find a way to heal them, is there one? Or are they just like cannon fodder? I used a Manticore to successfully bombard the hell out of Far Base One so my Marines could cap it, but the Drone I got was killed quickly (though he made for an excellent scout and managed to help me steal a few resource pods that were in other civs areas).

So is there a way to heal them or do they just die?

Yes they heal in miasma.

have you tried parking them in miasma tiles? I know AI aliens heals when in miasma, not sure if player-controlled ones do as well.

Hostile alien units heal in miasma. It might be the same for those. I haven't gotten a chance to try myself since the only alien unit I've gotten was killed before I could do anything with it.

Friendly aliens do indeed heal in Miasma if you leave them there for a turn or two.

Just leave the unit alone for a turn it will heal.

The alien units can't fortify, so you don't get the 'fortify until healed' option.

But all units, even in civ v, heal if you leave them alone that turn.

According to the xml, alien units heal 5 HP per turn in miasma.

I had an wounded manticore and I couldn't figure out how to heal it so I just dragged it to my capital and used it as an defender and told it to fortify then it started to heal.
