Heinkel HE 111

No idea what Refar did, but the filesize decreased by a third, so he did delete quite a bit.

This one works for me.

Cool Mamba... I'm back at work :( but when I get back home I'll take a peek again... I take it the file you posted is without the V1?

Also, I don't think Refar did anything wrong... I redownloaded the ORIGINAL He111H22 files (with V1) and had the same problem... I dunno... that's why I only do XML mod-work... this 3D model "NIF" stuff confuses me! I just plug them into the game and see what I get.

Anyways, I do appreciate folks stepping-up and helping out... Refar, Mamba and others. I'm trying to release my own humble mod and trying to be "a little differant" with my flavour units then what everyone else does... I'm mixing and matching things where possible, and I'm trying to flavor nations all the way from ancient times through industrial and modern times.

I've probably 'borrowed' models from everyone in the Civ Fanatics community... the credits list will either be quite extensive or offer the "can't remember everyone" tag-line! Lord knows I lack the talents to make these excellent models you guys are doing.

Anyhoo, I seem to be aimlessly mumbling, so I'll stop.

I'm just trying to work a plain (non-V1) He-111H model into the game for Germany (the Germans didn't really use the He-111E/F model during the war, they were outdated... they sold them to third-world countries before the war).

I'm also quite an expert on what nations used what aircraft during the World War II, so all the "minor" nations I'll try and give proper aircraft to for flavor beyond the default Spitfire and Lancaster (most smaller countries purchased fighters and bombers from America and European powers for their air forces, so I'll do that in my mod too... like Greece will fly Hurricanes, or the Ottomons will have the MS-406 and He-111F). I'll do the same with tanks, so everyone doesn't have Shermans too.

Now I just need to see if I can get this He-111H working with good props and no V-1.

The bomb had quite a polycount, hence the decrease in filesize.

I would really like to know how you fixed the props :)

I encountered this problem before, i know is related to the Alpha blending but it seemed impossible to fix it with NifViewer - at least to me.

Hey... that's GREAT Mamba! Thanks for the well-needed fix!

Don't suppose you want to look at the He-111E/F model do you? There's something not-right about the props on that one... don't know if it's moving too fast or not at all. It's not nearly as bad a problem as the He-111H was, but there's something goofy with it... if it's a simple quick fix, might want to look at it, but if it's too much trouble, I appreciate the VERY NEEDED fix to the He-111H which was really jacked-up.

Thanks again!

I didn't fix it, for me the props always worked, what I did was removing the bomb anew in NifSkope (or what was left of it in my version of it, which was just the front part (i.e. what is underneath the wing), not the back part (i.e. what you can see extending out behind the wing in the screenshots)).

It seems I had a different base version because my .nif was bigger than the one in the 1st post, so it's not Refar who deleted 1/3 of the filesize, it was someone else who increased it by 50% above the original post ;)

Deleting things is about the extent of my .nif changing skills, so I can't fix the problem with the other model. Otoh I again have a version with a lot bigger .nif which might not have these problems either.

Get it here.

That did the trick too... weird... the ones for download in this thread both had problems with the prop animations (one worse then the other), but you were able to offer versions that didn't have that problem (plus get rid of the V1 which I didn't think needed to be on there... thanks again).

Well, that problem is solved... now if we can get the P-38 animated (or is it already?).

No, that one isn't working for me either, if anyone has a working version or can create one, I'd appreciate it :)

Giving it animation/propellers require to merge (rebone) the unit with one that have animation, replacing the Lighnings propellers. Perhaps the He111 can be used - it has 2 engines as well. There is a tutorial from Rabbit, White on how to do it - part3 of his nif tutorial, i think.

But everytime i try it, my NifViewer crashes (not just with this one unit, so it is not unit related i think) :(

Well, I think getting the P-38 model with animated props would be really sweet... I'd love to do it myself, but this 3D model stuff is a little beyond my scope.
