Help: Error when downloading large file from CFC

Hello, I have a friend who is having trouble download a MOD file (117MB or so) from Civfanatics. The file seems to be linked correctly, and well over 10 other clients have downloaded the MOD without a hitch. This is the information he posted:

Did anyone else have download problems?
I tried several download utilities, including DAP, the firefox and IE dlrs. each only came up to something like 91 percent. Some then just saved the file and finished, while dap just stayed there. Any ideas why? tips?

IE says "Internet Explorer cannot download LOTM_APR22.rar from www.civfanatics.net.
A system call that should have never failed has failed"

Now there's one for BackSpace


any more ideas?

He has cleaned his temporary internet files and still no luck (the good kind of luck, anyway).
Could it be a firewall, router, virus, or network problem?

Any help that could be offered would be immensely appreciated.

I've heard of a program called something like "get right" (?) - it's supposedly some sort of download utility, which may help with such problems. And I suppose it's free/shareware, or then again it may be not - i don't know

I don't know who or where someone mentioned that program, but maybe googling for it could help?

This is an odd case to be sure. Did any of the others eventually throw any error messages? Does he have any strange problems with his operating system?
