Help me find better clothes

Guys,

He's not asking a group of younger males who post on a message board devoted to a (particularly nerdy) video game about fashion, he just wants to know where he can get button-up shirts with nature and astronomy scenes on them.

Unfortunately, I haven't a clue where one could get something like that. But if you're looking for a more classy option, maybe try this?

I doubt anyone on this site is into fashion-industry fashion, which tends to suck anyway, but I'm quite capable of dressing to look good.

Sure, ask some female friends about fashion stuff, but some of them are going to have crappy opinions, and if you have no sense of style, you're still going to make poor decisions in matching your clothes.

I use a female as a guide. I reject a lot of stuff she might suggest and pick out a bunch of stuff on my own too. Also, it's important to bring one who's actually got a lot of style - and not just your mom.

I had to change the way I dress a bit when I joined the military. Strict dress code enforced for the first year while I was in school and it caused me to buy alot of new clothes and ditch some old clothes. Luckily, I ended up on the west coast where things aren't as strict anymore.

I buy new t-shirts when I don't feel like washing the old ones. Same with socks and underwear actually.

Really? Do you eventually wash them?

You are asking a bunch of heterosexual, generally white males about fashion? We generally don't know much about fashion besides what our mothers said looks good on us. The best advice is to do what warpus did and have a female companion to help you pick out clothes that look good on you.

Well, I did get a promise from my erratic GF to go shopping with me for clothes but it hasn't happened yet.

heh, I knew someone would link to that one. I don't really want animals anyway though, especially not wolves.

Yeah, I think this is good advice. If my S.O. won't come along I might try to rope in a female friend to helping. I definitely don't trust my mom picking out my clothes. A good 1/10th of my social misfitness in grade school was due to her horrendous choices (though these experiences helped me cultivate a healthy masculine don't-give-a- attitude but now I'm coming from a place of just wanting to look good & somewhat different, I agree with what Mise said, that different isn't always good & it's usually bad but I'm wanting to experiment because appearance does effect people's perceptions).

@Narz: I wash the ones I use regularly - what I meant is that if I haven't washed them in a long time, and feel under no compulsion to was them, then it's probably time I replaced them. (Irony is, I'd have to wash them anyway before taking them to Oxfam...)
