Help me or else my computer gets it!!!

Please, help me. I'm computer illiterate and I can't get Civ 4 to run.

Well, my discs were mislabeled, and now I have disc 1 in the CD drive. That's working ok.

However, when I click on the desktop icon to run the program, I get an XML error.

Failed Loading XML File Assets//XML\GameInfo/CIV4PlayerOptionsInfos.xml.

As well as:

LoadXML call failed for GameInfo/CIV4PlayerOptionsInfos.xml.

Can anyone help me. I tried downloading those Microsoft patches. I tried updating the audio drivers. Nada.

I just want to play!!! I want to play!!! Why God why????
