I don't know this song and could use help identifying it (read: it's driving me crazy! :) ). I think it's popular, somewhat older, though I cannot remember much of it to be able to give a full description (such as instruments used, decade, genre).

What I do remember is the catchy melody of the chorus, and I made a MIDI of it, so anyone willing to help please download it (it's only 349 bytes).

Here is the (zipped) MIDI: http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads/unknown_song_2.zip

Thanks in advance. :)

You can't hurry love no you'll just have to wait, she said love don't come easy, it's a game of give and take...

Yea but you didnt the second time, you filthy perma PC reductee...:D

Yep, it's Mr. Collins with the rather famous "You Can't Hurry Love"
I can hear it's Phil Collins who's singing, but the text says "Diana Ross and the Supremes"

Anyway, here's the lyric:

I need love, love, love, ooh to easy my mind
And I need to find, find someone to call mine, my mama said

You can't hurry love, oh you'll just have to wait
She said love don't come easy, it's a game of give and take
You can't hurry love, oh you'll just have to wait
Just trust in the good times, no matter how long it takes

But how many heartaches must I stand
Before I find a love to let me live again
'Cos right now the only thing that keeps me hangin' on
Is when I feel my strength, you know it's almost gone, I remember mama said

You can't hurry love, oh you just have to wait
She said love don't come easy, it's a game of give and take
How long must I wait, how much more must I take
Before loneliness will cause my h-heart to break

Now I can't bear to live my life alone
I've grown impatient for a lover to call my own
And when I feel that I, I can't go on
You know I feel my strength, you know it's almost gone, I remember mama said

You can't hurry love, oh you'll just have to wait
She said love don't come easy, it's a game of give and take
You can't hurry love, oh you'll just have to wait
Just trust in the good times, no matter how long it takes

Then I'm free

Well now love, love, love don't come easy
I know I'll keep on waiting, anticipating
For that soft voice to talk to me at night
For some tender arms to hold me tight
I keep waiting, ooh, till that day
But it ain't easy, you know it ain't easy, and my mama said

You can't hurry love, oh you'll just have to wait
She said love don't come easy, it's a game of give and take
You can't hurry love, oh you'll just have to wait
Just trust in the good times, no matter how long it takes

So Phil Collins just did the cover of that song??? Wow, it's the only version I ever heard of it... And all this time I thought Phil was a talented dude...

KNAS, I am delighted that you have that song now... :p :)

Doh Nixon posted same time as me... Well there is my answer! :goodjob:

Well, I haven't heard Diana Ross sing that song either, but Phil does a rather decent job anyway. :goodjob:

.:KNAS:. is right.
"You can't hurry love" was on the Supremes' 1966 album "Supremes a Go Go".
