help please

Hi,
I've played civ2 for 2 years but only against the computer. I'd love to play on line with the challenge of random thinking humans! I'm not very computer literate and am looking for step by step help with the assumtion I know nothing. IQC, IP#, all that stuff, I have NO idea what it is or where to find it. Well - you have a hotmail account - so undoubtabily you are signed up on MSN - if not just make sure you are do a search for MSN download messager or something if it isn't already installed on your machine (if you have XP - it is installed automatically)

Just say: I'm a noob looking for a game of civ2 on the net and THIS is my MSN name - the person who responds or whatever will talk you through the rest - pretty straightforward generally.

so if someone gave me their IP how do I know they are on NOW and ready to play? I'm sorry I'm so dense but I need a bit more detailed step by step. I know how to play the game quite well I just have no idea how to play on line. It's not like pogo where you see a room somewhere and just click on it to join a game. When I click multiplayer game in civ2 it asks for the IP of the game I would like to join. I guess that's what I really need. How do I find games and their IP's? Thanks for your help.
