Help with Civ3 Complete installation

Hey there chaps,
I myself installed CIv 3 Complete last night. I bought the game used from Ebay. I played a conquest scenario of Mesopatamia. I reached 700 B.C. then this barbarian horde moved in form the NW of my cities, the next turn my game crashed. I exited, submitted that crash report and reloaded the auto-save at the same turn. Once again the game crashed. I am thinking that the game is either reoading the same bug over and over. Is there a way I could fix this problem?
