hi...i played this game way back in the days when it was new, then conquored it, and went on to new games. Now i find myself digging it out to play again. My problem is that i have the 1.21 patch installed, and there used to be a way i could hit a few keys on the keyboard, and the qwhole map would be available for me to see. I forgot how to do it...can someone help me please? thanks to all replies, and happy gaming to all!!!

"ctrl shift M" I believe or are you talking about lifting the fog of war?? I didn't know we could do that, ctrl shift M will erase all cities, improvements, and units so you just see the terrain and resources.

cntrl shift m sodent work for me :-( when i load and start a new game, there is a set of keys to press that will make all the black go away, allowing me to see the things around me, not just where my scouts or whoever has been. i can see where all the resourses are all over the entire map. It use to work, i just cant remember where the keys are......is there somewhere i can read about the patches and what they do, and shortcut keys? thanks all

I'm thinking it might have been a bug that got fixed in a patch,
the programmers probably used those keys for debugging purposes and forgot to take them out.

That was a test cheat used by the Firaxis crew which was not supposed to have been released. They made that command redundant in the next patch. If you get PTW, there is now a debug mode, which basically does the same thing.

The impression I got was that it released to the general public by one of the beta testers. Firaxis was not at all pleased when it became available.

Yes, it enabled testing of the AI to a degree that showed the deficits too well!
