Help with patches

I everibody, i've civ III from many times and today i've bought the expansion conquest and now i pass to the question i've!

I don't know if i need to patch it but eventually which patch is the right one?
i think the 1.22f for conquest is the one .. but is better to answer!

Another question .. but with conquest is play the world together? if so i've done a great buy!

PS 've read of lot of problem with the patches .... is something i've to know about? there is another patch that work properly?

The only 'problem' with patches I know of off the top of my head is if you have a pre-1.15 save, it will be incompatible with post-1.15 games, due to the removal of the Radio tech.

Of course, some people will argue that there are other problems....

In any event, finish any game you currently have, and then patch to 1.22. This is the latest patch.

Oh, there might be issues with the cd not being recognized.... but it's kinda hit or miss.

Great! but another question .. the last patch is 1.22 ... and what is 1.29 ??

After all i think i can't continue my saved game if i install the expansion conquer.

1.29 is the final patch for the original Civ3. Play The World was patched to 1.27, and Conquests was patched to 1.22. Be aware that these patch levels have no relationship to each other - they are for different versions of the game.

If you are playing the original Civ3, that game will not be harmed by installing Conquests and patching that. (As a matter of fact, Civ3 will be patched to 1.29 by the installation of Conquests, but that won't hurt anything and will actually fix a number of bugs. ) Once you install Conquests, you can play Civ3, PTW, or Conquests, at your choice. Although once you start playing Conquests, you will probably never play the other two again.
