You need to patch your version of Beyond the Sword to 3.17, I believe.

Are you sure you have it patched correctly?

I actually had that problem when I first had to burn a new cd... Old one got scratched. When you patch to 3.17, you need to get a 3.17 specific crack, the old one will no longer work. I'd send you mine, but I don't actually have it... Put it in the cd directory, and burnt an iso of it.

He's using a CD crack, probably with an unbought version of BtS.

umm...just out of curiosity...why on earth are you guys helping someone who cracked the game?
i don't wanna sound holier-than-thou, but i'd really love to see people buy the game to make sure there will be future versions of civ...
i mean, if he downloaded the game from some warez site or via torrent he could at least figure out on his own how to make it work...

just my 2 cents...

Agree ... I don't like guys which didn't enter their problem to google.com and find it or use trial and error method...

Note that using a crack doesn't necessarily mean you didn't buy the game. I know several people who crack the games they've bought, so they don't need to bother with switching CDs around.

Im requesting a lock on this thread. Not only am I unwilling to help you get your hack to work, I wish you wouldn't play FfH at all if you don't own a legal copy of Civ4 and BtS.
