Help with Total Realism

I've downloaded and installed Total Realism. When I try to load the game via the desktop icon I get the following error: mods\totalrealism\ is an invalid mod directory, ignoring

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Have you tried to load the mod directly via Civ4? The icon could be messed up for several reasons.
The most likely one: It uses a different path than you have on your computer.

It doesnt show in the mod area in the game either.

What directory have you installed the mod? The problem you are describing suggest you have put it in the My Documents/My Games/Warlords/Mods where it needs to be in Program Files/"2k Games/Firaxis Games"*/Civ4/Warlords/Mods

*or wherever you installed it

I'm running the latest version of Total Realism. My Russians know Sailing but can't build a galley. It's a coastal city and can build work boats.
