I was wondering if anyone here could help me.

I downloaded unace for Mac so I could use many of the mods posted in these forums but I can't get it to work or possibly even to install.

I'm using OS 10.3.4 and whilst I'm pretty good at anything with a GUI as soon as it comes to X11 and Darwin I'm lost.

The readme that comes with unace specifies a bunch of files which I can't find anywhere on my HD, I'm guessing this Linux stuff or am I missing part of the OSX install necessary for this.

The installer says that that unace was installed successfully but I can't find unace anywhere in either Finder or in the terminal.

Can anyone help?

What is unace? I'm not aware of it. Did you find it here at CFC? I don't understand why you need a third-party app to run mods. If the mod is 1.29f compatible for Civ3, then it should run on your mac Civ3 version (as long as its patched to 1.29b2).

It's an un-archiver for ACE archive files. What files do you need to unarchive with it?

I want to unpack a lot of the leaderheads created by R8XFT (Attila, David, Mansa Musa, etc). He/she has only posted them as .ace files and StuffIt Expander can't handle this files.

I found the Mac version of unace here: http://www.winace.com/news.html

I know this isn't directly related to Civ3 but since I found the above link somewhere in these forums I thought that maybe someone had had a go at using this program and might be able to offer me suggestions.

I'm beginning to think that Mac unace is really Linux unace that may or may not work under OSX.
