General 02: Field Day

One day before General arrived in London, and Parliament was in an uproar over a particular issue. The Conservatives had questioned the safety of her majesty the Queen and organized her sending to Scotland. The Labour party were horrified the Conservatives would do this, as they thought the Queen staying in London would at least rise Londoner moral.

It was at last decided that the Queen would stay in London, but a military force would protect the Royal family.

Later that same day, just before the Royal Family could be sheperded back to Buckingham Palace, a huge explosion lt the sky, and London Bridge was reduced to rubble.

---

"So, you belive there's an assasination plotted?"

"What isn't there to belive, General, they blew up London Bridge!"

"Do you have any idea who did it?" asked General, interested.

"No," said the Minister for Defense, "But we have reason to suspect the Prophets group, whats-its-name."

"Very well," General replied, "I can defend her majesty personally until you can get her out of Great Britain."

"Bu-"

"All I need is a Churchill Crocodile tank," General continued, a slight grin on his face.

General alighted the room, the Minister looking completly baffled.

"The papers will have a field day," he muttered, before he too left the room.

Steel - Lima

Steel looked out the truck window. Building rose high and people walked around unknowingly. It was already midnoon, the sun's in its peak now. "Its damn hot isn't it?" asked the general with a devilish smile. "Turn on the conditioning won't you maggot." The driver immediately decreased the temperature. "Much better." They were now on the highway, Steel still looking at blank air. He tried to memorize where they were going but they're moving too fast. "Where are they taking me?" he asked himself. Then out of the horizon dark clouds were forming. He could see factories emitting smogs and pollution. "What the---". Steel's head began to hurt. He fell down trying to grab his head but cannot due to the shackles denying him the freedom to. His vision began to dim and he shouted aloud. "Aaaaahhhhhh!"

"Steel!"

"Is that you mother?"

"Yes it is me"

"My head hurts"

"It because you are connected to me"

"Are they hurting you too mother?!"

"Yes they are. Those factories are killing me"

"Factories?"

"The large structures spewing out black smoke"

"They are the one responsible for your agony mother?"

"Yes they are the ones"

"I will make them pay!"

Shade: Abduction

"Okay kid, you know what to do. We'll secure the area, you move in, take the mayor's daughter, then get out. Some of us are creating a diversion elsewhere, to distract police presence."

"I don't even see why I'm doing this with you guys. I could solo this job."

"You won't get away with it without backup. And I've got plenty of contingency plans if you've got cold feet."

"Fine."

"Glad to hear it. Now get in there."

S (or 'Shade' as the others had started saying) stepped out of the car, and quietly shut the door. The dark figure dematerialized to get through the fence, and drifted along the lawn. Soon, the gaseous shadow hit the wall, which it began to scale. It flowed around the building, homing in on the site it had been instructed to reach. Finding a crack in the building, the substance flowed in. It noted the lack of any security cameras, and rematerialized into a human figure.

Shade pulled out a thin rope from a deep trenchcoat pocket, tying it around the brass door handles at the only entry to the room. This would serve, Shade noted, for two things: providing support for the escape line, and preventing their easy opening should something go wrong.

With this set up, the dark figure awakened the sleeping girl in bed, stifling a shout with a hand on her mouth.

"Quiet, and I don't need to use the knife."

The terrified girl, eyes wide, nodded.

"Good, with any luck you will be coming back here soon."

Tightly gripping the hostage, Shade stepped out the window and slid down the line. Shade winced at a strained arm, and noted that the glove which was doing the sliding was probably going to be irrevocably ruined. Upon hitting the ground, Shade half dragged the mayor's daughter towards the designated point in the fence. A hole had been cut through a few bars, widening them just enough. The hostage was passed through, and Shade followed. They rapidly filed into a car, and drove off into the night.

"Nice job." commented the driver, "Smooth as a well-oiled machine."

Shade responded with silence.
