IceEye: The Military Junta in China is due to a "cease fire" for the Chinese Civil War due to war with Japan. Also, Taiwan is controlled by Japan. Therefore, there is no reason for Taiwan to be an independent country, and I must deny you the ability to run the island.

Peace in Southeast Asia

Mao was elated at the news that the suddenly reasonable Japanese Emporer had accepted his peace offering. Further, the British and Russian leaders had responded favorably to his requests.

Mao made his historic announcements in Tiennamen Square, after observing the review of just one of the many, many new infantry regiments that made up the People's Army.

"Citizens of the People's Republic, I am pleased to bring you many good tidings on this day.

First, we have reached a peace agreement with Japan on the division of territory in the Korean Peninsula and Manchura. Thanks to this agreement, the bloodshed will end immediately, and our citizens west of the 124th parallel will soon be back in our communal family. Yes, we did concede a small bit of Chinese territory, as well claims over the Korean provinces in this agreement, however, as you will see, the return is worth our sacrifice.

Second, in order to deter such aggresiveness in the future, I have taken several steps including vastly expanding the People's Defense Force.

Third, I intend to enter China as an equal partner on the world stage. We accept Chairman Stalin's offer for a non-aggression pact, and pledge China to that pact today.

Fourth, soon I will announce a industrialization and defense partnership with another European country, and we look forward to building that relationship.
