Hmm - 3 UK release dates

Alright I just preordered the CE from Take Two with priority airmail. Pretty sweet to get it that fast. My only concern is that the recommended specs have gone up, I barely meet them now.

I contacted Amazon, and they did say that there was a mix-up with the dates, and as compensation they removed the first class shipping charge from my order!

Nice! How did you contact them? email/via website or by phone?? I want to see if i can get the same

If not, i'll cancel my pre-order like i was probably going to do anyway

I contacted them on their website via Help->Dispatch and Delivery->Where's my stuff.

I just asked them why the item wasn't dispatched as planned.

I'm not sure yet whether I'll keep the order or not - it still seems to be a bit uncertain when the game is going to be released in UK.

US release was in press release.

European release has been confirmed by take2 Benelux between 28 Oct and 4 Nov.

He also confirmed Nov 3rd for Netherlands and Belgium.

I am assuming 28th for UK.

After reading this thread and checking various websites I am none the wiser as to who to choose to order my Civ4 fix from...

So I've began mailing all the companies involved in making Civ4 to see if they can give some more concrete release dates.

If I get any response (chances are slim methinks) I'll post it up ASAP

Well it's true that AmazonUK have changed to 4th... i don't know if that's because they've received that date from their distributers or whether that's just them picking the furthest off possible date in order to make ammends for their cock-up of putting it as 21st... we can only hope that it comes out on the 28th - i'll be annoyed if my 3 day weekend goes to waste.

My quibble was about weather I'll get it from them on the 28th (Just put the price in to let others know! )

Still no responce from Firaxis or 2kgames but it is still sleepy time in the US! Maybe tomorrow.....

I've pre-ordered from play.com. They say it's available on the 28th but my guess is that they will be posting out pre-orders on that day or later. As the 28th is a Friday I'm not holding my breath - I expect delivery will be sometime the following week but if it comes on the Friday or Saturday I will, of course, be delighted and Play will definitely go up in my estimation.

Play.com is def a good site (price shown includes delivery! brilliant!! )

However they are based in Jersey so your package goes through customs so it will prob get to you by like monday/tuesday if they DO send it on the 28th.

Think I will prob preorder from play.com anyway as the price tag is always a clincher for this penny-pinchin Scott!

Well i've just bought Football Manager 2006 - should keep me occupied so i'm not as bothered as i was about it. Still, would prefer it to come out next week. :-(
