HOF Changed recently?

I havent been at the site for a few months, but from what I remember, the HoF high scores for Deity were higher than those listed, with some 60k+ . Did some get deleted for some reason, or do old scores get removed? Sorry, I'm sure this was posted at some time, but like I said, I wasnt around to see it. Thanks for any replies.

You are correct! There was a 60,000 point game by our (new) moderator Aeson. However, many of the scores were ejected due to old 'tricks' being drastically changed with a patch.

No, not old 'tricks'. Aeson's 65K game was removed because it was played on a map larger than the current version can support. I'm not sure about the exact dimension but with the current patch the "huge" map is now a lot smaller than what it's used to be.

I forgot about the map size being the primary reason! However, he did add somewhere here in the forums that there also 'tricks' he abused to get that score. It was demanding AI cities IIRC.

The funny thing is that the current submission page suggests you could still submit games under that patch, since all of them are listed...

Just getting cities form the AI in trades. With one of the later patches it was changed so you can only get cities form the AI in peace treaties....

Yeah, until that patch you could talk to an AI you were much larger than and demand they give you cities as tribute. After that was fixed, you can still demand cities, but as Darkness said they'll only give them up if you're negotiating peace.

Vanilla 1.29f is perfectly fine! The HOF doesn't require PTW, so you're good to go!
