Hi Denniz! and thank you for the assistance
Now Map Finder works, but when I hit alt+m during a game it says it can't regenerate...
any suggestion?
When it says that it is because you have contact with a AI or a couple of the AI's have contact. There is a Civ4 bug where the contact is not cleared when a game is regenerated. The fix was to prevent regeneration when that happens. Sorry, you will have to exit out and start a new game. It can happen when the number of civs is high and the land mass is small. Try using the minimum number of Civs or use low water levels.

I posted that screenshot I promised at the bottom of the previous page.

ruff_hi, did you use specialist stacker from HoF mod in Warlords game?

nope - that is just plain warlords with no mod.

Would it be possible to include Sevopedia in the next mod? The current HOF is wonderful, but it still uses the rather-lacking civilopedia. I don't think Sevopedia changes anything per game play.
Do you have a link? I took a quick look but didn't see a Sevopedia mod. Is it part of the Sevo mod?
EDIT: I found it in the Mod Packs section. It doesn't look like it has been updated since 1.52. I don't think upgrading it to 1.61 and creating a Warlords version is something we want to bite off right now.

I think I broke the Warlords Specialist stuff when I integrated the Specialist Stacker. I will take a look at either fixing it or removing the Stacker when the Warlords patch comes out. If I can remove it and it is possible, I might make vanilla work the same. We'll see. :goodjob:

Actually, Vovan/Progor has been continuing the work: http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=170501&highlight=sevopedia

It's 1.61 compatible, but not Warlords.

I think it probably would be too much work to integrate, and there doesn't appear to be any progress being made on it, unfortunately. It was a good help while it lasted. :) Thanks, Denniz, for the answer. :)

I believe it's 1.61 compatible, I'm not sure about Warlords.

Hopefully, this will be easy to integrate. Anything has to be better than the standard Civilopedia, heh.
Ah. :goodjob:

It is still questionable in that including it in Vanilla would put us in the position of having to update it to work with Warlords. Not sure we want to go there. But lets see what develops with Vovan/Progor...

When using Map Finder, when I press ALT-M, it regenerates once then stops. It simply does nothing after that until I push ALT-X and then it says it's stopping. I have the seconds set at the default 2.

I am assuming that you have downloaded and install the Civ4_Map_Finder VB Utility. And have run it so it updates the HOF ini file with the path information. The paths should be displayed when you hit Alt-M.

If you have done that, then you are probably getting errors somewhere. Turn on logging by setting the following in your "\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\CivilizationIV.ini" file:

Code:
; Set to 1 for no python exception popups
HidePythonExceptions = 0

; Enable the logging system
LoggingEnabled = 1

; Overwrite old network and message logs
OverwriteLogs = 1

; Enable message logging
MessageLog = 1

Try the Map Finder again and then zip up the contents of the "\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Logs" folder and send it to hof@civfanatics.net for me to look at.

I just figured out the problem. It was defaulting to Vanilla and I didn't know to change it to Warlords.

Edit- The more I look at how that switch I found works, the more I think it just started working randomly. Ahh well, whatever.

I can run the HOF 2.00.002 MOD for Warlords without problems to simply play the game. However, if I download one of the Warlords 2.00.002 saves from the HOF Beta tables and try to load them after loading the MOD I get a Microsoft Visual C ++ Runtime Library Runtime error! Any ideas as to why this may be happening?

Thank you.

Ah, I haven't put in a way for the utility to change the Warlords paths yet. :blush: Next version will have something. The whole startup routine needs to be redone for that and the nullreference execption.

Did you download the Original or Unprotected? Their is a bug with the unprotected version for Warlords. For now you should only download the original save. If it was the original, could you post the error?

I am running Warlords and have the latest HOF version for it, I recently tried to download the Map Finder. I installed it and the latest framework, and tried to run it, but when I did I got one of those Microsoft error reports, where I can send the error report or not send it This is what the error report contained:

EventType : clr20r3
P1 : civ4_map_finder.exe
P2 : 1.1.2451.28608
P3 : 450dc3e6
P4 : civ4_map_finder
P5 : 1.1.2451.28608
P6 : 450dc3e6
P7 : 2
P8 : 22
P9 : system.nullreferenceexception

Any help would be greatly apreaciated...

You can find a simple workaround for that here. Good luck.

FYI, you have to set the Map Finder paths in the Warlords HOF ini file yourself. :)

ainwood and Gyathaar have both seen the same thing. It was caused by a missing registry key. The mod requires "INSTALLDIR" under the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4 - Warlords" key to be set to the install dir. By default this would be "C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Warlords". Are you familiar enough with regedit to add this value to the registry?

Yeap - I just looked and it's set to C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Warlords which is where I have Warlords installed. Do you mean that it needs to be set to the directory containing the mod...C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Warlords\Mods\HOF-2.00.002?

I downloaded the HOF-2.00.002.exe file that's currently on your http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/mod.php page.

The error is attached...

Thanks, but I was asking about the Beta savegame file you tried to load. You should use the "Original" download link rather than the "Unprotected" as that doesn't work right with Warlords HOF Mod. If that doesn't work could, let me know what savegame you were trying to load.

One of the saves I've tried to look at is the game on this page...

http://hof.civfanatics.net/civ4/game_info.php?entryID=3077

I just downloaded the two saves by clicking on them and saving them to a directory on my PC. I thought it might be a problem with the saves so I tried saving them by right-clicking but that resulted in the same run-time error. I tried some of the other 2.00.002 saves but could not get past the runtime error.

Thanks. It looks like the download option for Warlords is broke. Since I am not sure how to fix it, we are going to have to wait for Dianthus to get back. Sorry.
