The old HoF mods in the mods page are compatible with the updated games or do they work only with the version they was created for?

Their names match the version they are compatible with. (i.e. 3.13 or 3.17)

I have a far hope i can open my old savegames. or some save in the HoF.
Not possible, unless i don't reinstall from scratch and i don't make multiple versions working... i think too much to study a save.
At least for my games i can always look the autolog.

You can done load and open any vanilla game with the current HOF Mod. Changes to Warlords and BTS prevented us from doing that with those.

Since a decent number of players do not like the new Global Warming system, are you planning a quick update to the HoF to take care of this?

I saw your comment in the other thread. We will mostly likely be doing new version sooner rather than later to address several things that have come up. Well take a look at global warming, too. I can't commit to any timetable, though. We just reached the point where everyone should be on the new versions. We don't want to rush and miss any bugs that haven't been reported.

The versions of the HOF Mod can co-exist. You can install the older version and use it without uninstalling.

The only issue you have to deal with is if you want to use a different patch of Civ4. For instance, if you want to play xtom for the 1.61 patch you would need to setup a dual install in order to be able to open the game. (This is generally done by copying the Civ4 folders to another name before installing the a new patch.

I installed HOF-mod 1.74.002 and load 33th save file of 4otm.

But error message is popped up and terminated automatically.

Error message: the save file you have selected is protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed.

How can I fix it?

Do you have BTS? There were changes to the Vanilla 1.74 & Warlords 2.13 assets that came with the BTS patch 3.13. I believe that there is a download availble on the GOTM FAQs that you can download to correct the issue if you don't have BTS.

Since i'm here, what about the new HoF mod taking care of the Global warming?
I'm eagerly awaiting it for my next #1 time game.

Hi!

I'm a newbie what comes to HOF so I just only submitted my first game there and now I am afraid it won't make the inspection of the save. I saved the game before my first victory condition, not after as I was supposed to (duh..I thought I had read the rules trough-outly but I remembered this part all wrong), nothing more than "Press enter" left though, since I knew I would win by conquest next turn (The last CIV had just vassalised).. So I reloaded, pressed enter and won in the beginning of the new turn.. Am I right assuming this might show as a problem when the save is inspected more closely? I hope it will make it to the HOF, I still have the auto-save from a couple of turns before also, if it's needed

I hope that someone understood my point :/

1) i submitted a Domination in Jan 2050: my previous game (first in noble/standard/time) was played with exactly the same strategy. How is possible the game give any victory condition other than time in Jan 2050?
I've sent an email to the staff to try to take care of this, this game could be, *must be* the new #1 in noble/small/time, not a pityful domination.
2) in the second half of the game i was busy to recover from Global warming: every 10 turns or less in average i got a tile turned on desert, with towns, watermills, anything. I built recycling centers in all my cities, not a single coal plant, not a single nuke. Please take care ASAP of this, or time games become unplayable.

We take what Civ4 gives us. If you exceeded the Domination limit on the last turn then it should be a domination victory. If there is a bug then it would be not giving you a domination victory in your #12191. I don’t know if the order victory conditions are checked is something we have access to. For the next version of the HOF Mod, I’ll take a look but as far as I am concerned time victory is only when you don’t win by any other means.

I expeted this, i was 99% sure you can't give a different answer.
Still, it's strange the same thing did not happened in my # 12191, something is wrong. Maybe a change in 3.17? # 12191 was 3.13.

Since i'm here, i wish to inform you and the other players, that Perla, my cat and my CFC avatar is died tonight.
She was at least 16 years old, we don't know exactly 'cause she's with us since early 1995.

I' very sad for this, even if i expected it.

That's why i added the Ankh to her picture.

This seems to have been around awhile. I seem to remember someone reported that you get a different result depending on whether the end turn button is red or green when you end the turn. (i.e. still moves left or not.)

I am sorry for your loss. Not that you can replace her but hopefully you will be able to adopt another cat after a little time has past.
