I uninstall/reinstalled but i can't update civ4 because it says i have 1.09.000 and have to "uninstall to an earlier version" or something like that?

does it matter or can i just install and patch BTS?

You need to patch Vanilla to 1.74 before you install/patch BTS.

Graphics mod are okay as long as they don't tough anything related to gameplay. (i.e. BlueMarble is okay. CivScale is not.) I have never heard of "veritas delectat graphics mods" so I couldn't tell whether it creates an issue.

It should let you patch it. Try running the patches in sequence. (i think 1.52, 1.61, 1.74) Either that or uninstall and install again.
 
ok, i worked out those kinks, and am up and running; thanks for the help!

i will use as you recomended, the dual install so that i can have my own configurations and still play HoF games. Now, i will look for where to report saves etc.
 
Still says my assets are different...

here is what i did and the order...

install civ 4, then patch it from a download to a credible site.

install bts, then patch it from the download here.

installed "blue marble" mod.

"blue marble 4.0 gold" is the modpack, and i installed all of its components, which seems to be only graphics?

It's not marble. It is complaining about the HOF Mod files are missing. The Vanilla HOF Mod isn't necessary if you aren't going to use it.

You said you did a dual install. Did you do a copy or did you install it again to another path? Most mods (including HOF Mod) use the registry created by Civ4 install to find things. The AssetChecker uses it as well. It is looking for it in "C:\Program Files\Firaxis Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\Beyond the Sword\Mods\HOF-3.17.001". Make sure the HOF Mod is installed properly. (It uses the registry to suggest the default install locations.)

I don't have a definate time frame. The list grows but I haven't made much progress of late. Sorry, you may have to practice being green for a while longer. ;)
 
Seems like not being able to change AI's civics diplomatically should impact A LOT more games than global warming(which is not actually bugged, just pretty powerful). It certainly affects pretty much all diplo wins, and to some extent the other VC's. Obviously the vassal dom limit bug affects score about as much as global warming does to time(if not more...).
 
I agree, if the diplo civic change thing is bugged still it needs immediate attention.
 
I'd like to know something about this diplo thing.
I never go for diplo in BtS, for my EQM diplo i use warlords... so i can self vote, just in case.

But still i'd like to be informed.

Otherwise with BtS only you can have great scores in Time, and GW is a big problem, even if i probably know a way to avoid it (there's some post in this forum about this).
But using this method you sacrifice some score and some fun.

I thought our nice Staff was preparing something months ago, evidently i misunderstood.

So, OK just to not lose hand, i'll try something in few weeks.

You can through permanent alliances, but not otherwise.
