I have C3C ver 1.00 is that valid for the hall of fame or do I need 1.00f ? What's the difference?

after setting up a new game, and not accepting the start you have been given, is it all right to use the quickstart button? i've never used it before, so i wasn't sure.

Doesn't Mapfinder use Quickstart? It's new maps, it just skips checking all the options by loading the same ones...

I am still accepting 1.00f games until June. That's so that people can finish their current games. If you are going to start a new game, you should upgrade to 1.22f first.

I noticed reload was not allowed. It will be amazing somebody can win SID without one single reload.

GPT bug - Doubling of GPT deals in C3C 1.00f and 1.02f. May result in the exclusion or eventual removal of a game if the game is played specifically to exploit it by offering cash for GPT and vice versa. Regular use of GPT deals is allowable. (C3C)

There is a similar gpt exploit that works in all versions. I found it accidently on the last turn of my spaceship game.

Negotiate a very expensive gpt-for-gpt deal with an AI that is behind in tech. For example, all your income for a right of passage. Turn off "always renegotiate deals". Then give them tech to get your money back.

Wait 20 turns until you are able to cancel the gpt-for-gpt deal. The AI will not cancel it because it benefits them. Trade tech for gpt again, and then cancel your gpt-for-gpt deal. The AI is now paying you an imaginary gpt deal that is much bigger than their real income.

Thanks for pointing that out. As with the other 'creating gold/production' exploits, it would be disallowed to use. The reason the double GPT bug was (somewhat) allowed was because it was impossible to avoid. This is avoidable.

Is there any possible exception to the "Allow Cultural Conversion" requirement? I was trying for Monarch 20k, and for the most of the game, I have had twice the culture of any civ, and about four times both of my neighbors, judging by the graph in Victroy Status Screen. I was wondering why there had not been a single flip of a size one closer to my capital and without cultural improvements. So I went to the start new game screen, and saw "Allow Cultural Conversion" was off, which was a huge disappointment since cultural expansion was going to be my main means gaining territory. If I still finish in a good time (I don't know if I will, since it is about 500 AD and I only have Pyramids, SoZ, GL, and Sistine Chapel), could I still submit it anyway? Disallowing cultural conversions certainly hasn't helped my game at all, and has probably cost me an extra source of dyes and incense that I could have gotten through cultural conversion.

I don't think so. Cultural conversions need to be on. But maybe you should wait for Aeson's reply (or PM him). He's got the final say in issues like this...

NO!......but THEY do!

Last time I checked, this site was FREE!!.......But, perhaps we could get bi-lingual volunteers to translate the Rules?

Also, the BIG question is: Is it NECESSARY to have the Rules in another language(s)? :)

P.s. I bet ALL those Sid-Level-Playing Germans read English! ;)

No, I think not. I don't wish to seem discriminatory against nonEnglish speakers, but this is an English only site and outside the HoF forum, the mods have been explicit about that on a regular basis. While we HoFr's comprise the elite players, I don't think we're so special we can break with the rank and file. The burden of translation is on the players...

Last time I checked it was free also ;)

Also, last time I checked training days, new units, terrain and other files, war academy articles, tools & utilities, deeply thought stratagies and a myriad of other hings were FREE also. Translation shouldnt be too much of a problem :)

Nope.

Im sure they do. As i said, dont get me wrong, I was just raising a question.
