Horror art

Decided that it is more useful for the thread to be about all horror art (eg writing, movies, painting etc) and not just of one medium

Also it won't be RD, you have defeated me anti-Nazarene

I will start, hopefully others will be interested too..

Books:

A number of short stories by Lovecraft, Poe, Guy de Maupassant and Arthur Machen. My overall favorite probably would be Machen's "The Recluse of Bayswater/novel of the White Powder"

Films:

The Tenant (Polanski)

Painting:

Beksinski. I don't particularly like Gieger's work (apart from a couple of images, like Shaft number 7).

Sad to hear/read that Yes, i am afraid that Spiders decapitating a Mantis still is a bit on the hardcore side due to not being theatrical at all

The work of Hieronymous Bosch, Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk, and Night on Bald Mountain by Modest Mussorgsky spring immediately to mind as personal favorites.

^Mussorgsky was an amazing composer. "The old Castle" is a great melody as well
