Horse how do i get horses

Research animal husbandry, find horses, and if they're not in your borders settle near them. Build a pasture with a worker and connect it to your cities via road. Now you can build units that need horses.

Sometimes you get unlucky, and strategic resources are not available to you. If you have animal husbandry and do not see horses, then you'll have to trade for them or find them/conquer for them elsewhere.

Not always, I just happened to be around because I'm (often not) doing school work at my computer ;).

Generally you WILL find that the people who frequent this forum tend to be of a much higher caliper than you'd typically find on internet forums though. They're more helpful, and FAR more courteous, to such an extent that it's strange.

There are other forums which have higher quality of posters but sure this forum is prolly way above average due to the generaly higher age of civ players...

I remember when I was in a forum about a cartoon television show... The top poster had about 5,000 posts in a week.

Oh, by the way, TheMeInTeam...you have almost 1,500 posts and you registered in January of this year.

Shhhhhhhhh. It's just a number. I'm not in one of my obsession sprees with Civ 4 or anything .

Actually, it's more a function of working as a GA at a university, and having a lot of free time in the office, where I have to be there in case the phone rings, but otherwise wind up trying to kill time. Homework and such only takes so long (I do homework much like I play civ 4 games............very fast). Even now, I'm listening to a streaming lecture as I type this because it's a slow point in the lecture.

Edit: I only got the game on xmas, and have only had BTS 3 months. There's no way I'd have gotten to the level I'm at if not for the combination of my school/work environment and this forum ;).

Ah, I see. Any chances there's a spot for me?

Sure, as long as you get into the MBA program and have a high GMAT score ;). It cuts into civ 4 PLAYING time a bit though, unless you both play and do work quickly!

@TMIT:
My MA thesis defense is on Thursday! My Civ4 obsession definitely gets in the way but I am limiting myself to only CivFanatics forum right now, no games.

P.S. I will have to change my sig soon. :)

Good luck! Fortunately the MBA program doesn't require a thesis. The course I'm in will eventually require a group project with some hundreds (I hear 200-300 depending on the statistics results printouts, it's a marketing research class) of pages this summer, but splitting it up will mitigate the difficulty significantly.

I won't have to be doing any thesis stuff until I go for a doctoral...bit scared that actually.

*ahem*. Right, so horses are an important strategic resource...

Actually for anyone following this that wants to know an actual tip for using horses, they're very helpful to early defensive strategies (massive SoDs charging you). If you whip out walls etc, you still have to deal with them using siege to knock walls down. Flanking HA's are just as important to defense as longbows/axes etc. If you kill all the siege, the AI tends to suicide its remaining stack against very high defensive multipliers :). Usually you want to follow this up with a counter-attack to a now-depleted AI, but this has merely kept me alive once or twice too :).

Can I substitute GOTM scores for GMAT. I have never played GMAT. :D

I greatly appreciate the older crowd. As I am 43 myself. It is a big plus very rarely seeing the slang word "leet" or is that 1337 or however they do it. AnD TyPiNg LiKe tHiS.
