I swear to god, whining about the weather is a national pasttime in England. Either it's too hot, too cold, too dreary, too wet, etc. etc.

way off topic, but globber have you heard the one "Racing a honda is like running the special olympics, even if you win you're still ********"?

Earlier today the thermometer at the bank read 86 F/30 C. That is on the comfortable side of average here in the Upper Midwest of the US. It has been a cool summer with most days being like today. Normally there is a month or two of heat along with thick tropical humidity. Nothing like that this year.

I've heard they declared the whole country a catastrophe zone because of the fires there. How's the situation now?

The center and north of Portugal are covered with dense pine forests and every Summer there are dozens of fires. This year however has been the worst in years. The region were I come from has been the worst affected. My father, who is helping the firemen, phoned me saying that he hadn't slept in 3 nights. 12 people have died. It's better now, but that's because there's nothing more to burn. :(

After this two last weeks, part of what is considered the biggest forest in Europe (all the center of Portugal) doesn't exist anymore.:(

41°C here in Alsace.....
And it is during for nealy 10 days now...
In the south of France, my grand-parents read 49°C on their thermometer ! so incredible !!!

It's often between 37-45 here in summer, and that is quite fine.
It is always amusing to see the footage of the people rushing to the beach or sunbathing in the streets when it reaches 20.
