How aspie are you?

Asperger's schmasperger's. I think this test is likely bogus. I'm shy but not autistic... I simply don't like people distracting me + I'm totally spineless, so I find life better without any friends. When I got rid of my last friend, I felt a huge void in my life since I no longer had any reason to play computer games. How many things you *have* to do without even realizing it!

Your Aspie score: 148 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 53 of 200
You are very likely an Aspie

WTH? I don't *hunt* other people. If someone wants to come to me and I like it I'll let them; I never understood taking things/people and reconciling it afterwards.

You're definitly an aspie if you voluntarily have no friends

Your Aspie score: 78 of 200
Your neurotypical (non-autistic) score: 93 of 200
You seem to have both Aspie and neurotypical traits

So is that good or bad?

Well, it's complicated. I'd like to have friends that are exactly as I like them to be, all the time. I do get lonely sometimes (mostly it is a good feeling), but I have a few internet friends left that don't ring my doorbell (thank God for that!) and generally share my views on things. I find that I'm not good with asking for forgiveness; the most trivial issues have insulted and driven many 'friends' out of my life. So nowadays I don't bother, let people have their fits and whims, and just stay true to myself.

Only now did I read the pdf that comes with the test. It seems that the 'hunting' category is rather obscure. I like the sound of flowing water, so I'm a hunter? Pass the shrooms over, dude. Yeah, now I see it... Look, a three-headed deer, or is it a pink pyramid? :smoke: :egypt: :rudolf:

Well, categories are nice. So what if I have this or that. I rather like myself the way I am. I'd just like to be left alone and not HAVE to see anyone unless I want it. Pity there aren't many jobs like that. Whose bright idea was it again to automate the lighthouses? *sigh* I might make a thread about this... "What jobs do you know that have minimal social contact?"

Asking on a forum...

Asking on a forum...
I have a serious condition... Please do not mock me.
Spoiler :
;) :p Well, it is a good place to ask, especially since the many Americans here have less options to be welfare-queens. :king:
Anyway, I've done spamming for now; I'll get back to my life of a total recluse. What was I doing again..? Oh yeah, musing about candy, attics and Syd Barrett. :smoke: :alone:

One of my Asp friends loves puns. Loves them.

...actually come to think about it puns are possibly the worst example of "don't get humor" part of Aspergers that I can think of, if not simply because it's probably one of the few areas in which an aspie is likely to appreciate (literalisms etc)

Su puntaje neurotípico: 116 de 200

PS: Yes, I took it in Spanish.

Didn't know what "aspie" was until this thread. Learn something new every day!

A large problem I had with this poll is that it listed possible comorbid symtoms (ODD, ADHD, etc) as towards the Aspergers score, when it doesn't actually effect the diagnosis at all.
Indeed. Which makes me wonder how much of diagnosis is frame-bias, the bias that comes with knowing one subject too well and therefore seeing it everywhere, versus how much non-standard ways of being ("wiring", mental health, physical health), that overlap stem from the same sources. Although I should mention that that is not an either-or.

This isn't an actual diagnosis or anything, it's just a crappy long poll made by someone who probably has Aspergers. Real diagnoses pay attention to the relevant issues.

That too. I was pivotting the subject ;)

I had never even heard the name Asperger's syndrome before a few months ago.

Hey! We both are "transitory minds" and we both have very similar skills (even though, according to the test, I'm better ).
