I am still in the ancient. I have conquered "peacefully" two cities of the Iroques to get access for north american culture. It worked two times. The first city was destroyed in the beginning so i conquered the second city. Than I conquered with my neanderthal and axeman quick the barbarian city before a new civilization is spawn. The Iroquis had a nice city with 13 population and I wanted it for free, but my bandit riders always only destroy now this city. I don't know if this is a capital city or not.
I have so much espionagepoints that I can see his cities and there is no capital city. I think I have conquered already his capital city. We like each other very much and have good relations, but he should have only 1 city and not 3 to stay primitiv when i enslave him with future mechs and he still like me. Now his city is shrinked to 9, cause I have put burglars in his city and looted his improvements on his tiles. ;_; I wanted to have a free city with size 13 in the beginning ! ;_;

How does this work when sometimes I take the last unit and a barbarian city is spawning and 2 rounds later spawns a new civilization ? Why doesn't work this with his third city ? I have tryied spread much crime and than sink the crime. It doesn't work and the bandit riders always destroy his nice big city. :(

Neither Bandit Footpads or Bandit riders can enter a NonOwned city. In other words the city will need to be captured by a regular army unit 1st. Then the Bandits can enter.

Bandits also can be on the same tile as Barb unit.

I have not found if they treat Barb cites the same as the Barb units.

But why sometimes when I killed the last unit with my bandits is the city changing to a barbarian city and after two rounds spawns a new civilization ? Is it not possible to conquer this city without declare war on my friend ? Was it two times a bug ?

New civilization is working as designed. And if a new civ spawns, you can declare war the regular way and take the city. So what is the problem?

The problem is I don't know how I was able to conquer his two cities without declare war on him only with my bandit riders. The bandit rider destroyed his last unit and the city changes in a barbarian city. The bandit rider is in the city. Than I have always two rounds time to conquer his city that changed in a barbarian city with my regular army before the new civilization spawn in this city. My bandit riders can peaceful join barbarian cities without attacking them. My burglar can this not without attacking it. My burglar can only join peacefully cities of the civilizations. First I thought i must increase his crime in his city before I can take his city. Than I take my burglar out of his city and tried it again but it doesn't work a third time. Maybe I make something wrong. Of course I can easy take his citys with my regular army and try than to make peace with him.
I played always with the game option start as minor. But now my challenge is to conquer "peacefull" the cities of my enemys without destroy the relations between the other civilizations. I like that, that I doesn't must declare war to conquer his land and I just want that he isn't angry on me cause I declare war in the past. That is the problem. That means I must increase his crime rate so much that the city revolts and than I can conquer this city ?

Burglars can’t capture cities. But ambushers and stalkers can. Probably because they can’t enter non-owned cities (correct me if I’m wrong here). My experience though is also that they regularly raze rather than capture them just like your bandit riders. Not sure why it works that way. I also have not turned on Barbarians always raze.

You gotta read the notes on the unit hover pages to see how they interact with cities. Burglars are both criminals and ruffians. I dont think they have either the ability to blend into an enemy city or the ability to blend peacefully with barbarians.

Once you capture a city with normal ruffians like bandits its easy enough to walk in city defenders and again capture the city with your own regular military. No diplo penalties because its a barb city at that point.

Yes I have read the descriptions in the civicpedia. That my burglar can peaceful join enemycities and it is written, that they can't capture units or cities. But by my bandit riders is nothing written,that they can't conquer cities. But thanks, I will try conquer his city with stalkers now, maybe this works even when it is written, that they can't capture units or cities.

Hidden Nationality units always capture cities for barbs if they can capture the city at all.
