How do you organize your games folder?

I was wondering, because I have a super-long games folder in my start menu. I have all the Maxis games grouped together but that's about it. I don't keep games by the same company together, except Maxis, because I keep forgetting who made what.

Any suggestions or anything? Thank you

P.S. I will provide list of games I have, but only thru PM, as I'm shy about that kinda stuff.

I don't bother with my Programs list anymore. I just put icons pertaining to the game I happen to be playing on the bottom right corner of my desktop.

I only organize my desktop icons. I keep the Paradox games together, the FPS games together, the Civ games together, and Sim games together.

I ignore the situation of start menu shortcuts for the games, and some of my games are in the object dock I have and the rest are on the top of the desktop along with a couple folders for downloaded files I would need if I had to reset my computer.

The games in the object dock are the ones which have icons which somewhat work out well for it. The rest are the ones with the enlarged icons which are just a plain eye sore and should remain on the desktop itself.

I am not sure why you would be shy about sharing which games you play, as everyone has different tastes and I'm pretty sure no one would label you for the old/new games you play. Heck, I wouldn't care if a guy played Barbie, doesn't involve me.

I just list alphabetically, with sort function. By spend my time arranging by company, or genre, or fetish when I just scroll in a few seconds or so. Also, the desktop or the XP Start menu often has the icons I want.

It's a bit better than what I used to have, which was everything on the main desktop itself. I rarely need to go into the Games folder anyway, as whatever I'm playing for the week is in the CD drive anyway, and I go through that, or something like Steam.

I usually have between 6 and 10/11 games installed at any one point, so I avoid any and all cluttering.

Games with Penquins.

Games with Sid Meier's name on them.

Games about conquering the galaxy with imaginary technology.

Games about zapping other gamers.

Aimee, you can create brand new categories in the program listing and just move all the programs underneath to clean it up.

I just put shortcuts in steam, along with the regular steam games. That makes it really easy.

I have the following folders on my desktop;

FPS
RTS
TBS
RPG & Adventure
Vehichle Sims
Misc Games

All my games have desktop shortcuts (or in the case of Dwarf Fortress the whole program in a folder) are sorted into those folders. Steam games are also all in there, although Steam it'self is not in a folder.

How do you organize your games folder?
