I usually don't construct a building unless I want to keep it around for the long haul, but occasionally get caught in a gold crunch where I'd really prefer to spend money on unit maintenance instead of building maintenance.

However, I've never been able to figure out how to sell a building in Civ-V.

Can somone please give me a hint?

Thanks.

You should be able to just click the building you want to sell on the right hand side of the city screen.

I've never tried it either. I can't imagine being in a spot where the maintenance costs are a deciding factor, but I can imagine being in a position where selling buildings to get cash to spend on units would be very handy!

You might as well also sell buildings in cities you are razing. I do and the extra cash is always handy.

Good point...

It's handy if you're going for a science victory, and are close, but being attacked... you can sell, as an example, your cultural buildings, which you'll no longer need, and buy more defenders, so you don't need to switch from the SS parts to military.

It's also very handy if you're going for cultural, and get attacked... although I'd tend to resist until the very last bit, as selling science buildings is not to be recommended too early!

I never tend to go for a diplomatic victory, but it can be useful there too, to get the last bit of cash out to another CS that could make all the difference.

You can only sell one building in a city per turn. You can sell from more than one city though. There is still a bug in the "free" building catagory, that will cause some buildings unable to be sold.

Building units and selling them, can help also.
