How long does a game take

I was just thinking I should look into doing a log. Problem is I dont' know what would be the most efficient way to do it. I looked around the GOTM site and couldn't find any examples. I know they used to exist there, but haven't played GOTM in a long time (I'm still ranked #54, however ). Can you point me to a specific page within the GOTM or perhaps offer some advice on how to do a log? I'm sure many others would be interested as well.

I just play, and don't care about the time it takes. But mostly it takes a couple of weeks for me to finish a game since I don't play Civ as much as before. A turn can last very long, even if i don't write a log (which I never do, wow, I have always thought I was a fanatic, seems like I'm not at all), or think much. I just play for the fun of it.

Obviously, it depends on the size of the map and your "diplomacy".
With a small map and if you build only fighting units to destroy all AI opponents, it may take only a few hours (well, I remember having won in less than two hours) !
On the other hand, if your goal is to launch a 39-8-8-4-4-4 space ship, it may take as long as two days (as a matter of fact, I started a game on a Friday around 8 pm and, except a few rests for drinking water and other "technical" needs, I stayed in front of the computer until I finally landed on AC on the following Sunday. Of course, that was possible before I had any child !)

Wow, at last, someone on this thread like me... since I've joined this site, ive completed two, count them two games. I am at 1754 in the third game. It can take me a whole day to take 2-3 turns...(late game)
