How to beat this one? (Deity)

I tried Prince 2 times or something and then I went straight Deity.

I just tried playing on immortal (japanese, pangea)... But it's too easy. I'm the #2 in tech (Not even trying to tech and skipped NC) and I'm 2nd place in the score chart as well and I'm killing enemies really fast.
The difference between immortal and deity is too much. I can't train for Deity on immortal because on immortal I seem to steamroll the AI. Their cities have like 1/3 of the strength and the moment I get samurai (I rushed this tech) vs his composites and spearmen.... It's a done deal. Some om 'em have a few spearmen... wow...
Right now I'm about to kill England (who was the #1 on the score chart) together with the Huns from the other side. Give it 10-20 turns and the top-score enemy AI is wiped out, then the huns and then well.. I can start killing the tiny civs around me. Too easy.

I saw that other guy from those youtube movies pick Oracle everytime, plus it's easy to get. Sistine is not a must indeed. Perhaps I should have created units instead of Sistine like you mentioned. And I'm catching up at about Turn 220 if, I remember correctly, with tech on Deity in my last game. But I have no army because I put everything in growth & tech.

I'm surprised that with the unit count you have (from SS) @ Deity you still keep your cities intact. It just goes without saying that I get unit spammed in early DoWs so badly that I wouldn't have time for any pre-renaissance wonders. I'll be laughing if I don't get DoWed by 3 civilizations by T80.

I agree, and a lot of forum players here will attest the jump from immortal to deity is...godlike. But having said that, I don't see how you can be #2 in tech and skipped NC. Even with early Messenger of Gods, I don't see how you can out-tech civilizations that easily on Immortal on just Libraries without the modifier of a NC for cities.

Immortal game:
Because I killed many civs which gave me a huge empire really fast. I simply had a lot of population and when I kill the leading AI in tech all the time then I don't have to tech so fast anymore :). But then again, there is no way this works on Deity because their cities are so hard to siege and I can't have a large army because I need to tech harder.

On Deity: If a single settler slips trough my borders somehow and builds a city it will get instantly a lot of defense (walls and such) along with a militairy unit every 1-2 turns... I hate settlers more than enemy military units...

I guess I have to work on my Deity opening build order along with my late build order. Mid-game I seem fine. I still think that Babylon would be the best choice for beginners because of early bowmen/walls as well as their free early scientist that pretty much doubles my beakers.

There are a few things that seem to hurt me on deity if the AI gets this first:
- knights vs my composites
- artillery/longbowmen (the 3 range destroys me so hard)
- mass bombers/fighters (stealth = game over if he masses it before I get nukes or something)
- 1 full era or more ahead of me not counting the first era.

Ohyeah and latgame I don't have many ranged units anymore (except for b-ships and bombers). They all become short-ranged or melee. This also makes it harder for me to siege cities and to clear endless waves of enemies. You need to kill about 5-6 enemy units per DoW AI to just keep up imo. Sick.
