How to cheat in multiplayer

once i played a anchent game 10 turns later thier in reeiosene era

Important: is the above an exageration or a precise observation. Some MP players are damn good and can get to the classical era quickly if they pop a lucky tech hut. Let's say they start with mining and pop bronze working early. Well then they're only 12 or so turns from iron working. They could be classical in 20 turns or so.

Renneseance, though, shouldn't arive for a very long time.

Was this a gamespy MP game, LAN game, PBEM?

Play at LAN parties at your house, and: keep a cat that likes to walk on keyboards; drop ice cubes down your opponents' pants at critical moments; play in a room full of mirrors so you can see what cards they're holding.

drop ice cubes down your opponents' pants at critical moments;

  Definitely got to try that one. Of course, my favorite is the "I'm losing horribly in MP, oh look GameSpy 'kicked' me off and I can't get back on. Sorry guys, guess we'll have to try again some other time."

I don't think you can hack a game at gamespy without being an insider. PBEM games can be hacked, I would imagine. Same with LAN. Again, was your quote an exageration or did the guy really have musketmen and cannons on turn 10?

The Rules of Poker include a paragraph that, roughly paraphrased because I'm too lazy to go dig out my Hoyle, says "The ultimate sanction against cheaters is simple refusal to play with them." I have to agree. Cheat against cheat is no kind of game for the sane.

But, but, Cheating is the natural human way! That's why it is so much fun, not to mention profitable.

Tsk, Tsk, how can you suggest that a poster who wants to know how to cheat better could be embellishing his or her post on this sacrosanct forum, Rex?

Well stated.

The high road gives a better view as well.

    So you're not really 114 years old, Mr. Than Dirt?

If you are the host for a MP game, you can give yourself or anyone else 10 k of gold via worldbuilder or some other program, which results in OOS message for everyone. After everyone has loaded your hacked version, then the message goes away. I have seen this happened a couple times in MP, and the guy gifted me all that money since I was fighting his enemy.

I just feel 114. You know that you are getting old when you look in the mirror in the morning and say "Drat, I'm still here!"

What real fun is cheating online anyway? Most all of the thrill is gone if you can't see the people whom you are cheating and the adrenalin rush of knowing that if you get caught that they will, at a minimum, beat the crap out of you.

I've had, "Drat, she's still here." Does that count?

I once popped Bronze Working from a hut then got Iron Working from the next hut. That was quite an abberation though, I usually get a free map or gold. :(

I think you're exaggtering. and its "Renaisance" not "reeiosene "

On the ladder that counts as a loss and rightfully so.
