How to earn British Invasion achievement?

I'm playing Elizabeth and I moved my great musician onto Washington's land and performed a concert tour. Nothing happened. Reloaded, moved to next to his capitol and tried again. Still no good. Does my territory need to border his or something?

Could it be a Steam problem? I reloaded again, and moved on to Morocco (set up this game to get both achievements) and did my English concert on top of a Kasbah. Nothing.

Odd...I've gotten both achievements. You're sure you're a) online in Steam and b) not running any mods?

I've never used a mod. I'll try rebooting and see if that helps.

Rebooting didn't help. Here's the save game. See if you can look at it and see if there's something obvious I'm missing. Great musician is next to Washington. A few moves to the east is a Moroccan Kasbah for the other achievement.

Remember not to try this for me if you don't have the achievement and want to get it yourself.

Does it matter how I acquired my Great Musician? In this case, rather than generating one, I earned a GP and got to pick the type. That shouldn't matter, should it? I'm totally baffled.

That didn't matter either. Used a naturally generated Great Musician and still no achievement. I'd say it was bugged except some others have claimed they've gotten the achievement. I'm going to post it in bugged thread regardless.

I would guess it is a Steam issue.

The first time I tried this, it didn't work even though I met all the conditions.

The next time, I doublechecked to make sure Steam was connected and got the achievement.

Well, I looked at the save and didn't see anything that should be stopping you getting the achievement, so it must be some sort of odd bug. So you know, I got the achievements in two separate games by starting the game on a Duel-size map in the Information Era (on Quick speed both times and with either Washington or Al-Mansur as my opponent), generating a Great Musician, and then sending him out to do the appropriate concert tour.

I don't use mods. Could I have clicked one by accident? Is there a way to clean your system of mods to reenable achievements? What about reinstalling the game?

For what it's worth, I have yet to earn a single achievement since BNW came out. I use no mods, my Steam is working fine, I'm connected to the internet, etc. Achievements were working just fine for vanilla and G&K, but now, nothing.

Fortunately I couldn't care less about achievements, so it doesn't bother me at all, but I figured I'd chime in and confirm that it's not just you. There are also many others who have reported erratic or non-functioning achievements post-BNW.

I can't comment on its accuracy, for the reason mentioned above , but it seems pretty on-target.

And I wanted to say I just tried your achievement. I did plan on getting it myself but its just one where I would set up a quick game late era start anyway so this was just saving time.

I got the achievement as soon as I pressed the tour button.

Have you every used FireTuner? Enabling that will also stop achievements, which can be a pain as a modder who sometimes forgets to disable it again.
