How to load a missile in a submarine ?

My Atomic Bombs will not rebase into the nuclear submarine. I've tried everything listed in this thread -- moving the nuclear submarine onto the city, one hex away from the city, multiple hexes away. The bombs will rebase to other cities, but not to the nuclear submarine (and yes, it is definitely a nuclear sub).

Yeah -- I click on the Atomic Bomb, and I click "Rebase to other city" and I click on the nuclear sub, and it does nothing (and it has moves left). Note that I have successfully rebased an Atomic Bomb onto an Aircraft Carrier, but it just doesn't seem to want to work with the nuclear submarines.

You can only load a nuclear missile to a nuclear sub, not the nuclear bomb. You can load the bomb to an aircraft carrier.

You can use the "rebase" icon (the little hangar in the list on the left) to load a missile on a sub.

However, I've had no luck loading more than 1 guided missile on a nuclear sub. And even that 1 missile leaves a "1" artifact on the map whenever the sub moves around.

I haven't yet tried missile cruisers or carriers. I do have a nuclear missile rebased to a city near the front of my next war, though, and there's an icon for launching it (and a shortcut key "N").

I think you can only load 1 nuclear missile in 1 n-sub or 1 atomic bomb in 1 carrier. I couldnt rebase my n-bomb in my carrier too until I remove all the other aircrafts stationed.

it only works for nuclear missiles, not bombs.

Yeah, I just realized that in the game. Atom Bomb is less hammers (850 vs 1200), with less range (8 vs 10), but Nuclear Missile specifically says in description it can be loaded onto carriers and submarines. That's obviously what I built in the previous game and loaded onto the carrier! Atom Bomb can only move from city to city.

The nuclear missile is loaded on nuke subs and missile cruisers. The bomb goes on carriers. And you can have two missiles per sub or cruiser, and three nuke bombers on a single carrier - there's no limit beyond its normal basing capacity. The bomber actually has more range, but does less damage.

I've used these. . . a lot.
