how to make ai trade uranium?

im in desperate need of some uranium, but my buddy brennus is reluctant to trade me any. he has 1 surplus uranium and all the required techs, and i think i have about +16 rep with him. is it possible to make ai characters trade uranium? im not sure how i can raise my rep with him any higher.

also, does being at war prevent you forming defensive pacts? it not appearing in my trade menu

Not sure if AIs will be willing to trade uranium due to it being used to build nukes, but

The actual +rep number isn't relevant to anything but UN/AP votes, what matters is the diplo level (Cautious/Pleased/Friendly etc), though i'm guessing its at friendly.
Do you have any vassals? as that can cause diplo to go out the window completely.

Though i'm not 100% certain I am quite sure you can't have defense pacts while at war.

how should i do that?

i think i may just invade one of america's cities to get my uranium. theres a uranium deposit near one of his cities thats on the outside of his borders on a seperate continent which i have just one city on at the moment, so i think i can just airlift a small army over there, and shore up my defenses, then i wont need to be too afraid of him retaliating, as he is only now researching flight.

also ive started losing rep with brennus now because hes finally decided to cross the ocean and assist me in my lengthy struggle with montezuma, so the proximity of our cities is causing tension.

Having just checked ingame, yes AI will trade uranium to you, in fact they oddly seem as willing to do so as any other strategic resource...

how should i do that?

When creating a post you will find a paperclip symbol above the box your typing in, the button allows you to manage attachments, click browse and then find and doubleclick the save file and it will atach to your post. To make it easier to find I usually move the save onto my desktop beforehand.

Taking it from other people is of course a good choice if it can be done

ive started preparing to invade america, while also trying to keep enough units in the north to stop brennus taking control of any more of montezumas cities.

i was perhaps a little too generous in trying to befriend him and he has started to jump ahead of me

He is actually willing to trade uranium here, if he wasn't it would be redded out on the trade screen, like the copper and iron are. The problem is that you don't have enough stuff that he wants to pay for it.
If you cut your slider to get more GPT you will find that he will trade it for Dye, Bananas and 213GPT, extortionate yes, but strategic resources are always extremely costly to buy.

Strategically, Brennus is well into Friendly so he won't attack you. With such a huge tech lead it should be simpe to take the entire continent, and this would go more quickly if you had all your core cities building units rather than structures. Then you can sit back and rush to space, or finish everyone else off at your whim. Theres isn't a real need to get uranium here.

the uranium is definitely red in brennus' trade menu for me. whats up with that?
when i mouse over it, it says "we just don't like you enough" in red

i probably should have said this sooner but im using a mod, i think its called next war.
maybe thats why?

Odd, when I load the save I can buy it from Brennus
Doews anyone else get this?

Anyhow, I don't think next war will make any difference as its just an extension to the standard game.
