How To: Make Leaderheads! Ekmek's Guide

I opened some of them, and found that it gave a .h file. What's that and how do I view it? Do I use these ever at all?

open is not the same as unpak. the h file i this is the sdk stuff. i don't know what you are doing.

but you might be far enough along in blender to export a nif. I hurried up and finished te nifskope/nifswap guide. I'll finish up the blender part this week. I guess huayna capac could use the nifskope guide as well.

see attached

Here is my problem. I was nifswapping my old Chinese LHs to make them work. I did all as you said, but there was one problem: the right arm got gigantically warped, on all three of them. Here's a screenshot. What did I do wrong?

I don't think so...

But anyway, now I'm working on a new LH. How do you add another person's part (I want to put Isabella's crown on someone)?

you import a boneless nif. click on the crown. go to edit mode and select all. then go to object mode. then you join the imported nif oject (in this case crown) to the head of the model you are working. then go to edit mode and under vertex groups find the head click on that. and assign it to the head. if these directions don't sound clear I will have my blender guide done no later than wednesday (i have a work trip I'm going on and nothing else to do at night)

boneless means you import a leaderhead separte the part you need and delete everything except that piece including the sticks/octahedron bones. you basically unrig it. or you import the crownn from my leaderparts library, i think its already there. if this doesn't make sense it will be in my guide.

did you join the crown object to the body object?

if so go to edit mode and the highlight just the crown then assign it to the head. you'll know its assigned when you unhighlight and the go to vertex, pick the head and hit "select" it will highlight

I was able to join the crown and head, but when I opened the LH in Nifskope the hair was gone.

Okay, I put the crown on the head, but when I nifskoped it, it turned out like this (attached):

The only thing it got right was the body and crown

Thanks for all the help!

Okay, my blender is still having the same problems as it was before. When I export custom objects from blender and nifswap them onto a leaderhead, it looks just fine in nifskope. But when I view the leaderhead in civlopedia, the objects aren't visible, just the skeleton with the unaltered objects hanging from it. When I try to view it a second time, the game crashes. Any idea what's going on?

are you rigging them to the body? or are you just exporting a part and trying to put it on someone in nifskope?

I'm rigging it. More specifically, I'm nifswapping the original object (that is to say, the main mesh that makes up most of the LH) with a new, altered version of said object. This is a shader leaderhead, BTW.

On the un-nifskoped one, it's like this:

NiNode (Scene Root)
-----NiNode (with Isabella's crown stuff in it)
-----NiNode (with all the Champlain stuff, including the hair, in it)
